Kaon Spontaneous CP Violation Reevaluated
The CP parameters ǫ and ǫ ′ ǫ are calculated in the aspon model of spontaneous CP violation, a model which solves the strong CP problem. A new range for the scale of spontaneous breaking of CP is found. It is shown that ǫ ′ ǫ is suppressed by ∼ xv/(κ sin θC) ∼ 5×10−3 relative to the Standard Model. If experiment finds that ǫ ′ ǫ is 10 or greater in magnitude, it will mean that the present appro...
متن کاملRare Kaon Decays – Overview
The theory of rare K decays is reviewed, emphasizing short-distance processes and the prospects to probe the physics of flavour. A brief overview of the subject is presented, along with a more detailed discussion of the theory of K → πνν̄ decays. Invited Talk presented at KAON 2001 International Conference on CP Violation, Pisa, 12-17 June 2001
متن کاملRadiative Semileptonic Kaon Decays
We evaluate the matrix elements for the radiative kaon decays K → lνlγ, lνll l and K → πlνlγ (l, l = e, μ) to next-to-leading order in chiral perturbation theory. We calculate total rates and rates with several kinematical cuts and confront the results with existing data. Measurements at future kaon facilities will allow for a more detailed comparison between theory and experiment. † Address af...
متن کاملKaon Decays and Vus
Unitarity for the first row of the quark mixing matrix appears to be fully satisfied by the value of V us obtained from recent new measurements of kaon semileptonic decay rates.
متن کاملRadiative Rare Kaon Decays †
We discuss theoretical issues in radiative rare kaon decays. The interest is twofold: to extract useful short-distance information and understand the underlying dynamics. We emphasize channels where either we can understand non-perturbative aspects of QCD or there is a chance to test the Standard Model.
